  •  The Fact: Pure Lithium Silicate is a clear-to-slightly-hazy liquid.
  • The Warning: If the liquid is thick, syrupy, or has visible sediment, it is likely a high-solids Sodium Silicate blend.
  • The CETEX Standard: Our LD remains stable and low-viscosity for maximum penetration.


  •  The Fact: Apply the liquid to a small concrete sample and let it dry without rinsing.
  • The Warning: If a heavy white powder or "crust" forms on the surface, it contains Sodium or Potassium. Pure Lithium Silicate reacts internally and should not leave a heavy salt residue.

 The Stability Challenge: Lithium vs. Sodium

The Warning: The Sodium Silicate "Sweating" Effect

Sodium Silicates are naturally hygroscopic. Even after they have dried and reacted with the concrete, they remain sensitive to humidity. In high-moisture conditions, dried sodium silicate can re-absorb water vapor, leading to:

  • Surface Sweating: A slick, slippery film on the floor.
  • Efflorescence: White, chalky salt deposits that ruin the floor's aesthetics.
  • Aklali-Silica Reaction (ASR): Potential long-term internal damage to the concrete slab.

The Fact: The Lithium Silicate "Permanent Shield"

CETEX Lithium Densifier (LD) is engineered for molecular stability. Once Lithium Silicate reacts with the concrete and dries, it becomes insoluble and non-hygroscopic.

  • Humidity Resistant: It does not pull moisture from the air, ensuring the floor stays dry and slip-resistant in all climates.
  • Breathability: While it stops liquid water, it allows the concrete to "breathe" water vapor, preventing internal pressure buildup.
  • Zero Bloom: Unlike sodium, lithium does not migrate back to the surface as white salt (efflorescence).
